Financial and Logistical Support

ACCESS Reproductive Justice

ACCESS is a California-based organization that provides comprehensive practical support to individuals seeking abortion care. Their financial assistance may cover a wide range of needs, including the cost of appointments, telehealth services, transportation (such as flights, rideshares, or gas), lodging, meals, and childcare. Additionally, ACCESS may be able to connect callers with a network of trained volunteer drivers who provide safe and supportive transportation to and from appointments.

All financial assistance is subject to the availability of funds. For procedural funding in the Santa Barbara area, ACCESS currently identifies SBRCO as their sole official partner clinic in the region, though they emphasize that their list of provider partnerships is not exhaustive.

National Network of Abortion Funds

The National Network of Abortion Funds is a website that connects individuals with local, regional, and national organizations that help remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion care. Through their network, you can find support for costs such as the appointment or procedure itself, travel, lodging, childcare, and more.

Each abortion fund in the network operates independently and may offer different kinds of support. Using the abortion fund search tool on their website, you can find assistance tailored to your needs, filtered by location and the type of assistance you're seeking. Selecting “financial assistance” connects you with funds that help cover the cost of the abortion procedure itself. Choosing “logistical support” will lead you to resources for transportation, lodging, translation services, abortion doulas, childcare, and other practical needs.

National Abortion Hotline

The National Abortion Hotline is a multi-lingual, toll-free hotline offering callers accurate abortion information, confidential support, and financial assistance. This assistance can be for both the cost of care and travel-related expenses. The Hotline is free to use and available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.

Please note that financial assistance through the National Abortion Federation is only available at specific partner clinics. While they do not currently partner with any clinics in the Santa Barbara area, they do provide a map of affiliated providers across California. If you are seeking care in nearby locations such as Los Angeles, this resource may help access financial and logistical support.
